It is quite extraordinary how I am sitting in my workshop so close to Christmas and not doing anything. Usually, this is the time of year when things get crazy and chaotic. However, it is sort of nice to have all this time to myself.

And while the Tree is bare and Sugar Plum is trying to get my "spirit" back, it looks like she is all alone in that endeavour. None of the other elves who are stuck up here are very happy about it. None of them are even trying. Snickerdoodle has told her that she's fighting a lost cause... If the elves do not have their Christmas Spirit, I do not understand why I must have it.

I am enjoying myself and catching up on a few things I never have time for anymore.

Santa, I agree with Saki. We are willing to do our part to help. While we can only imagine how hard you must work at this time of year especially, we do know how much your efforts mean to so many. No one can brighten the eyes of a child the way you can. Is there any greater gift one can have than that? It must bring you joy to know how many people love you, doesn't it? We can all make this happen together. Please say the holiday can go on Santa.

Santa,

You ask why you must have Christmas Spirit if the elves don't? Did Santa Claus really ask that? You need to have it for the children! Children all around the world who live for Christmas! And not the ungrateful ones, but the ones whose families are so poor that your gifts are likely the only ones they'll ever receive. I know the angry mail has gotten you down, but think of this. Those poor children in third world countries who only get your presents, can't afford the paper and postage to write you a thank you note. But that doesn't mean they aren't grateful; in fact, they are the most grateful children on earth.

So don't do Christmas for the ungrateful kids, that's fine. But don't make the poor grateful children all over the world suffer because they can't afford anything more than looking at the sky and screaming out a "Thank You Santa!" after they open their few presents. They still matter. They are who you exist for! Please don't let them down, Santa!
